Ricoh Co., Ltd of Japan has concentrated on the development of Optical Disk Record Media since 1980's due to the need of Media which can store the data of huge capacity in a short time.
Ricoh first developed WORM (write once, read many) using a pigment recording membrane and CD-R Disc in 1992, and CD-RW Optical Disc in 1997 over the world.
Independent media and stamper technologies accumulated through development of these Optical Disks are being used in development of the latest DVD+RW/+R.
Hybrid CD is the disk in new concept developed by Optical Disk technology condensed over the long time.
